"Our Story"
Lyle Gadbury has been in the construction business since before graduating from High School in Manson, Iowa. He has now been in construction for 46 years! He worked in Iowa, Oklahoma and Colorado before moving to Cheyenne, where he endeavored to become a General Contractor, and in 1993 started his business. Lyle has always loved working with his hands, and as he says, ‘builds the project in his mind, before he actually builds it.” He is the work horse behind the business!
Kathi Gadbury had no idea in her young years that she would marry a master carpenter, let alone become part of that business. She met Lyle in Colorado, where they started their married life together and learned alot about business. Some of those lessons were hard learned, but, she would say, those were “valuable lessons”. Kathi is the voice on the phone, the book keeper, the receptionist, the secretary, and ‘the boss’ as she is lovingly called. Kathi and Lyle have raised three sons, and now are blessed with wonderful daughter-in laws and 6 grandchildren.
Dave Harnish, Kathi’s youngest brother, joined the company in October of 1998. He was running a successful drywall repair business in Arizona, but was wooed to come and join us. Dave is the organizer behind our projects, and does so with his great vision of being organized, precise, and with a great sense of humor. He keeps us moving in a business that can be very hard to control because of all the variables that can go into every individual project. He is the ‘cog’, that keeps us rolling!
Bret Gadbury, (oldest son of Lyle and Kathi) is the “Jr. executive” and has worked with the company since he was little. He remembers well cleaning up job sites, which wasn’t a favorite of his! But he has learned much being the son of a contractor. After graduating from East High School in Cheyenne, he attended BYU -Idaho, where he received a degree in Construction Management. He also has a Masters degree in Spanish, which he received at the University of Wyoming after serving a full time mission for his Church in Chile. He has a young family and will one day be the “ Sr. executive”, as we hope to have him carry on the name and values of our business.
Our crew: All we can say is that our crew is THE best crew in town...state...country...the world! They are craftsman, gentleman, and fun to be around. They are mindful of the homeowners we work for, with a great sense of responsibility in getting things, “just right”. They are worth a bazillion bucks! We cannot thank them enough, but would like the world to know who they are!

Gadbury Construction is currently looking to hire a new associate. If you can leap roof lines with the grace of a ballet dancer, shoot nails out of both hands and can cling to shingles like a mountain goat, you probably belong in a video game.
